Potential Is Never Given for Itself

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who

belong to the family of believers (Galations 6:10).

When I was in college, I went on a tour of Europe. After several days, I lost interest in all I was seeing because my fiancée, who is now my wife, was not there to share it with me. On that trip I learned

the truth of this principle: Potential is never given for itself. Whatever God gives to you, He gives for others. Even as a solitary instrument cannot produce the majestic music of a symphonic orchestra, so human beings cannot glorify their Creator in isolation. 

I need your potential to maximize mine, and you need my potential to maximize yours. All we have been given is meant to be shared. After man had finished naming all the animals and no suitable

helper for him was found among them, God performed another significant act of creation. Why? “It is not good for the man to be alone” (Genesis 2:18). God did not make woman because man asked for a wife, nor

because a helper for man was a good idea. Man needed a companion because he could not realize his potential without sharing it with someone. His solitary existence was not good. To be solitary or alone is not the same as being single. To be alone is to be isolated and cut off from others. Communication is impossible because you have no one like yourself to share with. This is what God says is not good. To be single is to be unmarried. Marriage is not a requirement or a prerequisite for the fulfillment of your potential. You do not necessarily need a husband or a wife. 

What you do need, however, is someone with whom you can share your potential. This is true because your personal satisfaction is connected to your fulfilling God’s purpose for your life, and your purpose cannot be achieved in isolation. You need those people who will call forth your potential and into whom you can pour your life. You may be wired to be single, but you are not designed to live isolated and alone. You need someone with whom you can share your potential.

Igihe cyose kubana n'Imana bikurutira kubana n'Umugore cyangwa umugabo, Imana ibona ko nawe umukeneye. Imana ngo ibona ko atari byiza ko Adamu aba wenyine! Uyu munsi Abantu benshi bahugijwe no gushaka inshuti aho gushaka Imana! ariko nkubwize ukuri, Inshuti nziza uyibonera mu mana. Inshuti ukuye hanze y'Imana ukayizanira Imana izagusubiza hanze ikujyane kwa sobukwe usange ari kwa Satani.

Uyu munsi ndagira ngo dufatikanye kwibaza iki kibazo: Ese Imana ko idategeka abantu bose Gushaka, igihe cyose nshatse bitandukanye n'Ijambo ryayo ntahabwa umugisha? hari abantu benshi bagirwa Inama mbere yo gushaka, aho usanga umukobwa w'umwizerwa ashakanye n'umupagani ngo azamuhindura, ariko Imana ntiyigeze ituremera abantu bo guhindura ahubwo ikuremera uzaguha umunezero.

Igihe cyose uhugiye ku by'Imana izita ku byawe, niba uyu munsi ikikurangaje ari ugukora umurimo w'Imana, niba ikikurangaje ari ukubaha Imana , gukiranuka no Kwirinda Imana izaguha umufasha ugukwiye. kandi uwo uzabona aje kugushyigikira mu muhamagaro kurenza kuwugukuramo. abantu benshi bararira ngo abagore cyangwa abagabo babo ntibabemerera no gusenga! ariko nkwibarize nti ese wamushatse ute?

Hari abantu bajya bavuga ngo:Unyanze napfa! uko biri kose umuntu wicwa nuko bamwanze abeshejweho nuko bamukunze? icyo cyaba ari ikinyoma! abantu bashobora ku kwanga ariko Imana mwatangiranye urugendo niyo murusozanya iyo ukomeje kuyibera umwizerwa. Uyu munsi ukwiye kumenya ko Ubuzima bwo gushaka uwo muzabana, bukwiye kubanzirizwa n'Ubuzima bwo gushaka Imana yamuremye, hanyuma mubiganza byayo niho wakura uwo Imana yakugeneye kandi akagufasha kuzuza ibyo Imana yakuremeye.

Uyu munsi, hari abantu benshi, binkira mubyo bita urukundo ugasanga niba yari akomeye nibwo aguye, nonese ubwo uwo ni umufasha? umufasha aho agusanze akuriza indi ntambwe, akongerera icyubahiro, arakubahisha, kandi yishimira ko Imana yakomeza kukuzamura!Kuko icyo azira mubuzima bwawe si ikindi ahubwo aza kugushyigikira.

Hano ukwiye kwibuka ibi:

1.Abantu bose ntibashaka; hariho abavutse ari ibiremba, abandi bakonwe n'abantu, hariho n'Inkone zikona ubwazo ku bw'Ubwami bwo mw'Ijuru. matayo 19:11

2. Ukwiye guhanga amaso Imana aho kuyahanga uwo wifuza gushaka, kuko umuntu muzima uzamukura murugendo rugana ku Mana, abandi bose batari muri iyo nzira  bashobora kukurangaza. nuwo wakura ahandi hatari aho ukwiye gushishoza cyane.

3.Gushaka si amaranga mutima ahubwo n'icyemezo, kuko amarangamutima ahindukana n'ibihe, imyaka n'Ikimero. umuntu wifuza gushaka ujye wibuka ko ari we muzabana ibihe byose, arwaye, akennye,akize,mu bibi no mu byiza. ntukwiye kumushakira ibyo atunze.

4. Igihe cyose umuntu atanyuzwe no kubana n'Imana, ntiyiteguye kubana n'umuntu munzu!

5. Ukwiye kwita kucyo Imana iguhamagarira gukora kw'isi nibwo Imana izaguha Umufashaka ugukwiye. ariko niwita ku mufasha ugatakaza impamvu, uzazana umuntu wo kujugunyira izahabu zawe ingurube kuko atazi ibyo wahamagariwe.

5. Igihe  cyose Imana iguhaye umugisha, biguhesha amahoro. Igihe cyose  ubuze amahoro uba wakiriye ikitari icyawe.

6. Ubuzima bw'Umuntu ntibushingira ko afite inshuti y'umukobwa cyangwa y'Umuhungu, ahubwo bushingiye ko ufite Imana ikuzi na nyuma yo gupfakara. Ukwiye kwita Kucyo Imana ikuvugaho kuruta kwita kuko wifuza kumera.

7. Ukwiye kubanza kuba wikunda bihagije byatuma uzakunda nuwo muzabana. Ese wifuza ko watwara inda? wifuza gushaka udakoze ubukwe? wifuza kugwa kubera ubusambanyi? igihe ibyo byose utabyifuza ntiwabyifuriza nuwo ubwira ko ukunda! 

8.Ukwiye kwibuka ko ibyo umuntu abiba aribyo asarura: Ese wifuza kuzumva abana bawe babana n'abagabo cyangwa abagore utabizi batarasezerana? uyu munsi ukwiye kwibaza uti ese kuki njye nakora ibi mw'izina ry'Urukundo.

Icyitonderwa: Uyu munsi Isi igeze aho ibona ubwizerane nko kwemera kuryamana n'Umuntu (Gusambana mbere yo kwemerwa n'Imana n'abantu). kuburyo ibyo bitabaye hariho bamwe bumva ko mutizeranye. ariko ubusambanyi ntibuvuga kwizerana! ubihakana agende abaze abantu bigurisha, ese hari ubwizerane bagira?

Umuntu wese umuhungu ashuka, cyangwa umukobwa ati nitutaryamana sinzamenya ko unyizera, uzamenyeko ahubwo uwo muntu ashaka kukurimbura. naho akarimi ke kaba ari keza rwose. imigani 5:3-23, uyu munsi kwizerana bikwiye kugushingira ku byo mwibwira n'ibyo mutekereza kurenza ibyo mukora.

Uyu munsi niba wifuza urugo rwiza ukwiye kurutegura UBANA N'Imana aho kwiruka inyuma yabo ushaka kuzaba nabo, niwiruka ushaka Imana, muri iyo nzira uzabonamo umufasha, nugwa azakubyutsa, nusubira inyuma azagusengera, azagushyigikira mukuzuza ibyo Imana ishaka ko ukora. aho kukubohera mubyo we yifuza.

Life and Power Is in the Seed

For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations (Isaiah 61:11).

God created seeds to guarantee the fulfillment of future generations. Every plant, animal, bird, reptile, and insect possesses within itself the ability and potential to reproduce itself and to continue the propagation of its species. Consider then the prospect if every seed decided to germinate, develop into a beautiful tree, and have juicy, sweet, seedless fruit. What would be the result? A natural tragedy! Chaos would ensue and ultimately the genocide of mankind would follow as oxygen disappeared from the atmosphere for the lack of

trees.

Please note that the seed in this example did fulfill part of its purpose. It germinated, grew, developed, and even bore fruit. Yet the totality of its potential was not fulfilled because it did not extend itself to the maximum potential of releasing seeds. Because the seed failed to reproduce itself, the next generation of trees was robbed of life, consequently affecting the entire human race and all creation. This is the impact when one element in nature withholds its true potential and refuses to maximize itself. Tragically, there are millions of people who exist in “seedless lives.” They are conceived, grow, develop; they dress up, smell good, and look good; and they even pretend to be happy. 

Yet everything they are dies with them because they fail to pass on everything God gave them. They have no sense of generational responsibility. They have no idea of their duty to the future. No man is born to live or die to himself. When a seed maximizes its potential, it not only feeds the next generation but also guarantees it through the seeds in the fruit. God gave you the wealth of your potential—your gifts, talents, abilities, energies, creativity, ideas, aspirations, and dreams—for the blessing of others. You bear the responsibility for activating, releasing, and maximizing this potential as a deposit for the next generation

2. Urugendo barukomereje i Beteli:

Beteli bisobanura mu nzu y’Imana. Muribuka Yakobo ahunze Esau, Imana ikamwiyereka yiseguye ibuye ? Akangutse yasize amavuta ibuye, arangije ararishinga yita aho hantu i Beteli aravuga ngo nungarukana amahoro, ukampa ibyo kurya n’ibyo kwambara nzahakubakira inzu (Itangiriro 28:18-22). Aho ngaho ni ho Yesu yaje kuvukira.

Nyuma yo gukebwa noneho wageze mu nzu y’Imana, uri Amukristo mwiza. Imana ishimwe. Mu nzu y’Imana nagira ngo nkumenyeshe ko habera ibyiza utabona ahandi : hari imigisha yose Imana itanga kuko Salomo umunsi ataha inzu y’Imana yabwiye Imana ngo ngwino winjire muri iyi nzu ikubere ubuturo (1 Abami 8 : 22-53). Igituma abapfakazi, impfubyi bagera mu nzu y’Imana bakanezererwa Imana ni uko inzu y’Imana ari uburuhukiro bw’abantu bayo. Iyo uyijemo ufite ibikugoye, wizera kuruhuka.

Ikibazo rero ni abaje mu nzu y’Imana batarakebwa, bagasanga turashima ko Imana yaduhaye imigisha na bo bagasaba imigisha batarakebwa. Ni cyo kibazo gituma haba uruvange mu nzu y’Imana, kandi muribuka ko Abisirayeli bahaguruka mw’ Egiputa bahagarukanye n’ikivange cy’abanyamahanga, ni bo babakururiye akaga mu nzira bamwe ntibagera mu gihugu cy’amasezerano (Kuva 12 : 38).

Kuko abo bantu rero basabye imigisha batarakizwa ngo bige kubana n’imigisha, iyo babonye imigisha bashakaga bahita basubira inyuma cyangwa iyo migisha baboneye mu nzu y’Imana ikabatera ubwibone. Wambaza ngo kuki Imana ibaha imigisha kandi batarakizwa?

Yego nyine irayibaha kuko ubuntu bwayo bwuzuye isi yose, ivubira imvura ababi n’abeza, no mu mirima y’abarozi na ho ikagwamo, n’uwahinze itabi n’urumogi na ho ikagwamo kuko ubuntu bw’Imana ni bwinshi cyane kandi urukundo ikunda umuntu ni rwinshi, iba imutegereje ngo yenda azakizwa. Kandi umuntu afite uburenganinzira bwose, ashobora gukizwa cyangwa akinangira umutima. Ariko kuko Imana ari umutunzi w’imbabazi, yifuza ko bose bakizwa bakamenya ukuri.

Kandi gusenga ugasubizwa ntibivuga ko uri kumwe n’Imana, ahubwo uhore wisuzuma ko wakebwe mu mutima. Muribuka ko Yakobo yagiye yibye umugisha wa mukuru we (izina Yakobo risobanura umuriganya), ariko mu myaka 20 yamaze kwa sebukwe intama zaragwiriye, abona imigisha myinshi irimo abana n’abagore, ariko icyaha yacyihaniye mu nzira ataha (Itangiriro 32:22-32). Ni ko bimera, ushobora kugira imigisha y’i Beteli ariko utarakebwa.

Ahubwo nubona ibyawe bigenda neza, uhore wisuzuma ubaza Imana uti «Ko uri kumpa umugisha mu bugingo bwanjye ni hazima ? Ubu impanda ivuze nayumva ? » Bizatuma ukomeza kubana n’Imana akaramata, mubane nk’umubyeyi n’umwana. Kandi muzi ko Bibiliya ivuga ku bantu bahawe umugisha n’Imana, ikavuga ngo « Nimumara kurya mugahaga, mukubaka amazu mukayabamo, muzirinde ntimuzibagirwe Uwiteka Imana yanyu» (Guteg. 8:11-19).

Mbifurije kuryoherwa n’imigisha yo mu nzu y’Imana, kandi impamvu abantu benshi batagikunda kuza mu nzu y’Imana ni uko batazi ibyiza bihari. Ariko nta wabarenganya kuko ijambo ry’Imana rivuga ngo «Aho ubutunzi bw’umuntu buri n’umutima we ni ho uba.» Uzi ko Abakristo benshi baza mu rusengero ku Cyumweru, ariko kandi n’ubwo waba utaje mu rusengero uribuka ko wowe ubwawe nawe uri urusengero.

Mbese iyo ugenda uba uri mu mwuka wo kubaha Imana, cyangwa uyubaha iyo uje mu rusengero ? Ikindi gihe upfa ibyo wivugiye upfa uko wifashe ? Ariko niba Yesu atihanganiye abacururizaga mu rusengero kandi yari inyubako yubatswe n’abantu, n’abacururiza mu rwo yiyubakiye ubwe ntazabihanganira. Uyu munsi nkufitiye inkuru nziza! iyo umuntu ari muri Kristo Yesu aba abaye icyaremwe gishya. IMANA buri gihe ntiyibuka ibyacu bya kera ahubwo iturebera ejo hazaza kuko izi neza ko ejo hacu ari heza cyane kuruta ahazaza! Imana ntiyitaye kubyo wakoze bibi igihe cyose witeguye gukora ibyo igusaba ubu! niyo mpamvu Imana atarebeye mumateka ya kera Pawulo, ngo aho ajya hose ivuge ko ari umwicanyi, uyu munsi ndashaka ko ubaho mubuzima bwiza bwo gutekereza ko Imana iguhaye amahirwe yo kubaho mubuzima bwiza ntampamvu yo kwitekerereza mubyahise!

uyu munsi ndakumenyesha ko hakiri amahirwe menshi niba ukiriho, ahubwo ukwiye kurushah kureba ibiri imbere, Pawulo agera ahantu aravuga ati nibagira ibiri inyuma nkasingira ibiri imbere, ndasiganirwa gufata icyo Kristo yamfatiye. niba ukeneye gutera Imbere ukwiye kwibagirwa ibihe byo gutsindwa wanyuzemo, ibihe byo kuguca intege, ahubwo ukwiye kongera kwegera Imana kuburyo ikwereka ahazaza heza aho abantu bose batakubona ahubwo Imana ikubona!

Gukizwa ni ugutera intambwe! Pastor Desire Habyarimana

« Sigara aha »* 2 Abami 2:1-11

Gukizwa ni ugutera intambwe kuko tuva mu bwiza tujya mu bundi.

Iyo ukijijwe ntutere intambwe buri gihe ugana imbere, biba ari ikibazo kuko ni nko kubyara umwana ntakure. Uri umubyeyi wababara cyane ari nta cyo utakoze ngo akure, ariko bikanga. Nkeka ko ariko Imana ibireba iyo ibona umwana wayo amara umwaka yumva ijambo ry’Imana ariko ntakure ngo atere intambwe, areke ibyaha byamuneshaga kera atarakizwa.

Mu buzima bwa Gikristo duhura na byinshi bitubwira ngo «Sigara hano, ntutere intambwe.» Indirimbo y’108 hari aho igera ikavuga ngo «Jye ndi Umukristo, ndakomeje mu rugendo rwanjye. Iby’ino mu isi ndabihinyuye, nsigaye nifuza ibyo mu ijuru.» Bivuga ngo iyo iby’isi utabihinyuye (aho kugira ngo ubitegeke byo bikagutegeka) birakudindiza ntibitume utera intambwe ujya mu ijuru. Kandi muzi yuko turwana n’isi, n’umubiri na Satani. Ibyo byose ni ibigambiriye kudusigaza. Baca umugani mu Kinyarwanda ngo « Umuntu asiga ikimwirukankana, ntasiga ikimwirukamo. »

The World Needs Your Potential

 Esther 4:14

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from

another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you

have come to royal position for such a time as this?” 

God created all men to dominate the earth, not one another. Therefore, every human possesses the ability and the potential to dominate, rule, govern, and manage the earth. Each one has within him the spirit of leadership and the aspiration to determine his own destiny. This sacred spirit must be respected, protected, and properly related to God, the Creator, or its power will be turned toward other men to oppress them. This has been the plight of all Third World people. They have fallen victim to the ignorance of men concerning the equality and purpose for mankind. We have all been created to serve the purposes of God as partners in dominion over creation, for the purpose of manifesting God’s nature and Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. 

Jesus the Christ came into the world for this reason: to restore us back to our Creator/Father God through His atoning work so that we can rediscover our rightful place within His will for His creation—not to create a religion. This great message, called the gospel, has been contaminated by many for their personal motives and has even been used to justify oppression and suppression in many cases. Therefore, it is imperative that we in this generation commit ourselves, our resources, and our energies to destroying the ignorance and error that cloud the truth concerning mankind, God’s crown of creation. You are so valuable and necessary to the destiny of the human race that God chose to come to earth Himself to redeem you to your

purpose and true potential. What you were born to do and be caused Jesus Christ to come to give His life for your reconciliation. 

The world needs your potential. Nothing is more tragic than the waste, denial, abuse, and suppression of human potential. The millions of Third World people in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, including those who are quietly buried within the walls of the industrial states, must now determine to loose themselves from the mental shackles of the oppressor; to honor the dignity, value, and worth of their brothers; and to provide an environment within which the corporate will and energy of the people may be developed. We must chart a new course based on the principles of the Kingdom of God that will harness the intellectual resources, spiritual virtues, and economic industry of our people and will provide a national incubator that will encourage the max imization of the potential of generations to come.

Your Source/Creator Determines What You Can Do

Jesus gave them this answer: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he

can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son

also does (John 5:19).

What you can do is related to where you came from. God is serious when He says, “Without Me you can do nothing.” It’s not a matter of being spiritual, it just plain business sense. He created and made you. You came from Him. Therefore, the quality of your abilities is defined by God’s abilities. If you want to know what you can do, find out what God can do. God, who is omnipotent, created you to share His potential. When He took you out of Himself, He automatically gave you the ability to be creative and imaginative. You share God’s potential to plan, design, and bring dreams into reality. God is full of more projects, ambitions, and proposals than you can imagine. He’s the God of the impossible.

But He has tied the revelation of His potential to your dreams, aspirations, and prayers. That’s why God is constantly challenging you to ask Him for the impossible. The possible is no fun for God. He’s already done that. It’s the ideas, plans, and objectives the world hasn’t seen yet that God wants to do. You are the key to God’s creative expression. You can do anything God demands of you because your Creator will never demand more of you than He’s already built into you. God’s saying to you, “Go ahead. Imagine anything you want. There’s nothing you can imagine that I don’t already have. I need your imagination to demand it. Your potential is related to My potential, and I am omnipotent.” God designed you to operate like He does. Faith is going into the realm where you demand out of God what’s in Him that no one has seen yet.

Are you in a situation that completely baffles you so that you don’t know where to turn? You are the perfect candidate through which God can reveal His glory. God gets the glory when you make demands on Him. If you want to glorify God, make Him do things He hasn’t done yet. Go out on a limb and stretch your faith.

That’s how He created you to function. Without faith you cannot please God (see Hebrews 11:6). He demands you to perform the way He does, and He operates by faith.

The Enemy of Your Potential

The Lord is exalted, for He dwells on high; He will fill Zion with justice and righteousness.

He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom

and knowledge; the fear of the Lord is the key to this treasure (Isaiah 33:5-6).

When God placed man in the Garden, He commanded him to work the garden and take care of it. This requirement of God is given to man before he breaks fellowship with God through disobedience. Man is in his ideal environment, being filled with God’s power and anointing, living in perfect holiness and purity, and enjoying God’s fellowship and presence. Thus, this commandment implies that something or someone was waiting to take or attack what man had been given to keep. John 10:9-10 warns us of this thief. 

Satan is our enemy. He wants to destroy the power of God within us so that God’s glory is not revealed in us. He’s out to destroy all we could be because he knows that those who become rerooted in God have the ability to act like God, showing His nature and likeness. Consequently, satan comes as a thief to steal our potential because he cannot boldly challenge God’s power within us. Our outward container, which is our body, reveals nothing of the treasure inside us. This all-surpassing treasure is God’s power and wisdom. In other words, the key to releasing God’s power within you is reverencing Him, which is living with Him in a relationship of obedience and submission. 

You are filled with heavenly wisdom, but you have to follow God’s program to benefit from it. Jesus spoke of this need to live in relationship with God in John 15:4-7. No wonder satan tries to steal our potential. He fears God’s power within us because it is greater than he is. Therefore, our dreams, plans, and ideas are targets of his evil forces. The minute we have a good idea, the deceiver will send someone to criticize our dream because he cannot permit us to accomplish our vision. As long as we are only dreaming, he is safe and he’ll let us alone. When we begin to act on our dream, he’ll hit us full force. You are responsible to guard your dream and bring it to reality by safeguarding and protecting it from injury and loss. To do so you

must understand how satan seeks to rob you of your destiny

How to Work Out Your Potential

The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty (Proverbs 21:5).

Are you hungry to accomplish something? Are you so committed to a vision that you will do anything to see that vision come to life? Then make plans and follow them. There’s a difference between plans and haste. Haste is trying to get something for nothing. Haste leads to poverty. But the hard worker make plans and expends the effort to see those plans pay off. Do you want to be a lawyer, a doctor, a teacher, a carpenter, a policeman, a minister, a secretary, an accountant, or a politician? Put some work behind that dream. Burn the midnight oil and study. 

Make the acquaintance of a person who is working in your chosen field and work with him to learn the trade, business, or profession. The completion of your plans is related to your willingness to work, as is your prosperity. Likewise, the release of your potential is dependent upon your expenditure of the necessary effort to change your thoughts into visible realities. Work of your own initiative. Don’t wait for life to force you to work. Work is the key to your personal progress, productivity, and fulfillment. Without work you can accomplish nothing. God assigns you work so you can release your possibilities and abilities by putting forth the effort to accomplish each task.

The responsibilities God gives you are presented to provoke your potential and to challenge you to try new things. Until you stop being a reluctant worker, you will miss the vitality and meaning that God intended work to bring to your life. Accept today God’s gracious gift of work. Refuse to allow a pessimistic attitude toward work to rob you of your potential. Then look forward to the joy of accomplishment and the delight of discovering all God put in you for the world. You will truly find that work is a blessing.

Your Potential is Dependent Upon God

The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 1:14).

What does it mean when Jesus told His disciples that they would do greater works than He had done? Some people believe that God is afraid we’re going to take His job. When we start talking about what we’re going to do for God or what we’re going to dream, some people say, “You’d better not think bigger than God.” Well, you can never be bigger than your Source. You can’t think or plan or imagine something greater than God, because God is the source of your imagination.

He leaked part of His potential into you when He pulled you out of Himself. It’s like owning a Sony video cassette recorder with multiple features. It cannot fulfill its purpose or potential until it is plugged into an electrical source. So it is for every man. We must plug into our Source. It is imperative, then, that you understand the characteristics and qualities of God, as well as the provisions He has made to enable you to fulfill the purpose for which He created you. Your ability to release your potential is directly related to your knowledge of God and your willingness to stay within the parameters He has established

for your relationship with Him.

Live for Tomorrow

One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts  (Psalm 145:4).

The greatest threat to being all you could be is satisfaction with  who you are. What you could do is always endangered by what you have done. There are millions of individuals who have buried their latent talents, gifts, and abilities in the cemetery of their last accomplishment. They have settled for less than their best. I believe that the enemy of best is good, and the strength of good is the norm. The power of the norm is the curse of our society. It seems like the world is designed to make “the norm” comfortable and “the average” respectable. What a tragedy!

A quick glance at history reveals that the individuals who impacted their generations and affected the world most dramatically were individuals who, because of a circumstance, pressure, or decision, challenged the tide of convention, stretched the boundaries of tradition, and violated the expectations of the norm. Few great things have ever been done within the confines of the accepted norm. In essence, history is always made by individuals who dare to challenge and exceed the accepted norm. Why follow a path when you can make a trail? It is incumbent upon each of us to ask ourselves the following questions: Have we become all we are capable of? Have we extended ourselves to the maximum? Have we done the best we can do? Have we used our gifts, talents, and abilities to their limit? Just as a seed has a forest within it, so we contain much more than is evident at birth. 

Everything is designed by God not only to reproduce itself but also to transfer its life and treasure to the next generation. Potential is not fully maximized until it reproduces itself in the following generation. An old Chinese proverb that states, “the end of a thing is greater than its beginning,” rings true for our lives. King Solomon concurred with this truth: “The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong…” (Ecclesiastes 9:11b). Every individual is therefore responsible to live to the fullest for the sake of the following generation. King Solomon states it this way: “A good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children” (Proverbs 13:22a).

To live for today is shortsighted; to live for tomorrow is vision.

Don’t Die With My Things

Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the

body of elders laid their hands on you (1 Timothy 4:14).

Suppose…

Suppose Shakespeare had died before he wrote his poems and  plays—the potential of Macbeth would have been buried. Suppose Michelangelo had died before he painted the Sistine Chapel or DaVinci the Mona Lisa—the beauty of their paintings would have been lost. Suppose Mozart had died with all that music in his bosom Suppose Moses had died before he saw the burning bush…Paul before he met Jesus on the Damascus Road…Abraham before Isaac was born. How different the pages of Scripture and history would be. Suppose Martin Luther had died without writing the thesis…Charles Wesley without penning the hymns…John Wycliffe without translating the Bible into English. How different the history of the Church

might have been.

Can you imagine how many great works of art, music, and literature are buried in the graveyard near your house? Can you imagine how many solutions to the problems we face today are buried with someone you knew? People die without getting out their full potential. They fail to use all that was stored in them for the benefit of the world. I wonder what would have happened if your father had died before you were conceived or your mother before you were born. 

What would the world have lost if you had not been born? What will the world lack because you fail to live out your potential? Will you carry songs, books, inventions, cures, or discoveries to your grave? What would the world have lost if you had not been born? Our teens are committing suicide. I wonder who they were supposed to be and what they were supposed to do that we will never know. Have we lost some great leaders? Was your grandchild’s professor or another Martin Luther King among them?

Don’t Settle for What You Have

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary,

but what is unseen is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV).

Potential is always present, waiting to be exposed. It demands that you never settle for what you have accomplished. One of the greatest enemies of your potential is success. God wants you to maximize the potential He has given to you. You are not yet what you are supposed to be—though you may be pleased with what you now are. Don’t accept your present state in life as final, because it is just that, a state. Don’t be satisfied with your last accomplishment, because there are many accomplishments yet to be perfected. Since you are full of potential, you should not be the same person next year that you are this year.

Never accept success as a lifestyle—it is but a phase. Never accept an accomplishment as the end—it is but a mark in the process. Because you are God’s offspring, there are many selves within you that lie dormant, untapped and unused. Your primary problem is that you do not think like God does. There are many selves within you that lie dormant, untapped and unused. God is always looking for what is not yet visible.

He expects to find inside each person and thing He created more than is evident on the outside. On the other hand, man is often satisfied with what he has—or at least if not satisfied, he thinks there is nothing better. Thus he settles for what he has. Therein lies the tragedy of life. The minute we begin to settle down and be satisfied with what we have, we lose the possibility of revealing what is really inside us. Too often we die without exploring the gifts, abilities, and successes that lay hidden within us. Our thoughts, ideas, and possibilities are not used. We fail to realize the vast potential that is stored within us. We are like batteries in a radio that is never played—our potential is wasted.

Potential Defined

Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a

deposit, guaranteeing what is to come (2 Corinthians 5:5 NIV).


It is a tragedy to know that with over five billion people on this planet today, only a minute percentage will experience a significant fraction of their true potential. Perhaps you are a candidate for contributing to the wealth of the cemetery. Your potential was not given for you to deposit in the grave. You must understand the tremendous potential you possess and commit yourself to maximizing it in your  short lifetime. What is potential, anyway? Potential is…dormant ability…reserved power…untapped strength…unused success…hidden talents…capped capability.  All you can be but have not yet become…all you can do but have not yet done…how far you can reach but have not yet reached…what

you can accomplish but have not yet accomplished. 

Potential is unexposed ability and latent power. Potential is therefore not what you have done, but what you are yet able to do. In other words, what you have done is no longer your potential. What you have successfully accomplished is no longer potential. It is said that unless you do something beyond what you have done, you will never grow or experience your full potential. Potential demands that you never settle for what you have accomplished. One of the great enemies of your potential is success. In order to realize your full potential, you must never be satisfied with your last accomplishment. It is also important that you never let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. The greatest tragedy in life is not death, but a life that never realized its full potential. You must decide today not to rob the world of the rich, valuable, potent, untapped resources locked away within you. Potential never has a retirement plan.

The Wealthiest Spot on Earth.

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according

to His power that is at work within us (Ephesians 3:20 NIV).

The wealthiest spot on this planet is not the oil fields of Kuwait, Iraq, or Saudi Arabia. Neither is it the gold and diamond mines of South Africa, the uranium mines of the Soviet Union, or the silver mines of Africa. Though it may surprise you, the richest deposits on our planet lie just a few blocks from your house. They rest in your local cemetery or graveyard. Buried beneath the soil within the walls of those sacred grounds are dreams that never came to pass, songs that were never sung, books that were never written, paintings that

never filled a canvas, ideas that were never shared, visions that never became reality, inventions that were never designed, plans that never went beyond the drawing board of the mind, and purposes that were

never fulfilled. Our graveyards are filled with potential that remained potential. What a tragedy!

Only a minute percentage of the five billion people on this planet will experience a significant portion of their true potential. Are you a candidate for contributing to the wealth of the cemetery?

Ask yourself the following questions.

Who am I?

Why am I here?

How much potential do I have? 

What am I capable of doing?

By what criteria should I measure my ability?

Who sets the standards?

By what process can I maximize my ability?

What are my limitations?

Within the answers to these questions lies the key to a fulfilled, effective life. One of the greatest tragedies in life is to watch potential die untapped. Many potentially great men and women never realize their potential because they do not understand the nature and concept of the potential principle. As God has revealed to me the nature of potential, I have received a burden to teach others what I have learned. There’s a wealth of potential in you. I know, because God has shown me the vast store He placed in me. My purpose is to help you understand that potential and get it out. You must decide if you are going to rob the world or

bless it with the rich, valuable, potent, untapped resources locked away within you. You are more than what you have done.
