WHEN GOD INTERRUPTS THE IMPOSSIBLE By Pastor Gaudin Mutagoma

When Heaven Steps into What Human Strength Cannot Solve

“Is anything too hard for the LORD?”  Genesis 18:14

There are moments in life when you reach the boundary of human ability. You have prayed, worked, planned, waited, sought advice, and done everything you know to do—yet the situation remains unchanged. You arrive at a place where human strength says, “It is impossible.” But that is often where the revelation of God's power begins. The impossible is not a problem for God; it is an opportunity for Him to reveal who He is.

The Bible is filled with moments when God interrupted what appeared to be impossible. He interrupted the Red Sea with a pathway. He interrupted Sarah's barrenness with Isaac. He interrupted Goliath's strength with David's faith. He interrupted the fiery furnace with His presence. He interrupted Daniel's night with divine protection. He interrupted Lazarus's death with resurrection. What people called the end; God treated as a place where He could begin something new.

“With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”  Matthew 19:26

A miracle is God's intervention when human ability has reached its limit. When the doctors have done what they can do, when the door appears permanently closed, when resources are exhausted, when the deadline has passed, when the situation looks beyond repair—God is still God. This does not mean that every difficult situation will end exactly as we desire. Faith is not the confidence that God will always do what we want; faith is confidence that God remains faithful regardless of what He chooses to do.

Look at Lazarus. Jesus deliberately waited before going to Bethany, and by the time He arrived, Lazarus had been dead for four days. Martha said, “Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.” She believed Jesus could have prevented the death, but she had not yet understood that Jesus could speak into death itself. Then Jesus declared:

“I am the resurrection, and the life.” John 11:25

Jesus did not merely perform a resurrection; He revealed that He Himself is the Resurrection. The miracle was not ultimately about Lazarus. It was about revealing Christ.

Sometimes we become so focused on the miracle that we forget the One who performs it. We want the Red Sea divided, but God wants us to know the God who controls the sea. We want the giant defeated, but God wants us to discover His strength. We want the prison door opened, but God wants us to know that chains cannot limit Him. The miracle is a sign pointing beyond itself.

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

But here is where faith becomes deeper: God is still worthy of worship when the miracle has not happened yet. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego said that God was able to deliver them from the furnace, but they also declared that even if He did not deliver them according to their expectation, they would still refuse to bow (Daniel 3:17–18). Their faith was not dependent on the outcome.

That is mature faith.

Immature faith says: “I will trust God if He gives me the miracle.”

Mature faith says: “I believe God for the miracle, but I will trust Him even while I wait, and I will worship Him even if His answer is different from mine.”

Sometimes God's greatest interruption is not an interruption of your circumstances but an interruption of your understanding. You may be asking God, “Change this situation,” while God is saying, “Let Me change you through this situation.” You may be asking for a new door while God is developing the character you will need when that door opens.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7

Therefore, do not be discouraged because your situation looks impossible. Impossible is not a description of God's ability; it is a description of human limitation. Your Red Sea may be real. Your Goliath may be real. Your furnace may be real. Your Lazarus may be dead. But none of these realities are greater than the God who stands above them.
